Lord & Taylor, Dana Farber & Team Maureen help in the fight against cervical cancer

The Blum Family Resource Center Van will be parked outside Lord & Taylor in Braintree, Massachusetts, at the South Shore Plaza for a Cervical Cancer Prevention/Awareness Event. Health care providers will be available for education and to answer questions.
Each year, over 12,000 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer and over 4,000 will die of the disease. The good news is that most cervical cancers are preventable through regular screening and treatment of pre-cancerous changes. The United States Congress designated January as Cervical Health Awareness Month. During the month of January, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Community Benefits Office, in partnership with Team Maureen, will be reaching out into the community to raise awareness about cervical cancer and the importance of prevention and screening.
Team Maureen is a non-profit organization whose missions are to fund the most promising gynecological cancer research, raise awareness of gynecological cancer issues through educational outreach, and provide support for patients and families affected by the disease.
